We have all been in the studio gearing up for world domination…  Well, maybe not, but we have recorded 6 tracks, and had a great time doing it!  Back at the great Ignition Studios, which unfortunately has now closed it doors for the last time, we spent 50 hours over 3 days – yes an average of nearly 17 hours a day – hard at work, crafting, harmonising, and double tracking.

The tracks aren’t ready yet, but here are some pictures!  Long live the revolutions!

We are on Hollyoaks Music – THIS WEEKEND!!  For those late comers, thats the 17th July!

I am really looking forward to it.  The good guys at Ignition Studio have let us book in one more time before the place closes (big thanks to both Sean and Patrick, we are really sorry to see the place go) – but we are gonna make the most of it!

And what a great time we had! A mammoth drive up to Chester, in a van with a dodgy starter motor and a 5am start, but it was well worth it.

For the Hollyoaks Music Show, each band has a Hollyoaks cast member as a ‘mentor’ who introduces them, generally champions them and interviews them. Lucky for us, ours was the lovely Jorgie Porter (Theresa McQueen on Hollyoaks) and she was wicked. She was fun to work with and did a great job of interviewing a rather awkward bunch of Palpitations afterwards!  We were also lucky enough to meet the gorgeous Hollie Jay Bowes (Michaela McQueen on Hollyoaks) who I must say I have a bit of a soft spot for.

A big big thank you to all Lime Pictures crew (the guys and girls behind the cameras), not just for being considered for the show, but for all their help and encouragement. It was very enlightening working along side such a skilled bunch.

Also, a big big thank you to William from the great band Chew Lips (couldn’t have done it with you brother).  Great band, check them out here!

We’re all getting geared up for the 5th when we play on Hollyoaks Music – lots to do and not much time!  The nice people at Lime Productions (the guys that recording the Hollyoaks Music show) have told us that we can bring 20 lucky Palpettes along with us.  It should be a really cool day out and a great opportunity to meet your favourite Hollyoaks star!

Not only that, but plans are afoot to get us a gig after we record the show so you’ll get two Palpitations sets for the price of one journey!  Liverpool is such a great town too!

We just got confirmation that we are playing on Hollyoaks Music on T4, hosted by Rick Edwards! We are playing as part of Hollypops – its a battle of the bands type affair where you vote online. The band with the most votes gets a chance to play on a Hollyoaks episode. Check out the site here.
